Make or n8n for automation. These are the glue that turns your app from a static dashboard into something that actually does work. Send welcome emails, process payments, update records, trigger notifications — all without code. n8n is self-hostable if you want to keep costs at zero.

AI via OpenAI API or Claude for the brains. The difference between a basic no-code app and something people will pay for is intelligence. Connect your app to an LLM through Make or direct API calls and suddenly your simple database app can summarize documents, generate reports, classify support tickets, or write personalized outreach.

Why This Works Now

Three things converged. No-code platforms matured past the toy phase. AI APIs became cheap and reliable. And the market got comfortable paying for tools built by tiny teams — sometimes teams of one.
